Joe, thanks for the post noting my vacation. I see I have mail there but of course can't pick it up. I'm surprised they didn't ding you for posting that.

Joe, thanks for the post noting my vacation. I see I have mail there but of course can't pick it up. I'm surprised they didn't ding you for posting that. You really believe all the crap about how great Synta lenses are? Blows my mind that the Baffoon is promoting them. I like Celestron products to a certain degree. I have a C14 that was hand picked and it does perform well. I also use a CGE and CGE Pro. However the Pro has had trouble from day one. I sent it back once and they sent it back repaired with basically the same problems. Then I sent my CGE back with internal clock problems. They put in a $300 board and sent it back with exactly the same problems it had to begin with. Call me a refractor snob but I can't picture myself getting all worked up over a $60 department store telescope. SNOB!

Yeah Mike. I might be banned next. I fired off a note to the mod that removed that post telling him that I just wanted to let a poster know that he needed to use an alternate contact, and I didn't think he needed to remove the entire post.

Too funny, mr. 2.5 mm is posting about facts when he was caught in his lies and speculations and revealed as bag of hot air. I hope he continues as those who are savy are seeing what a pathetic individual he is. His wife must tip the scales at 350-400...and that was probably in college.
Another humorous tid bit, for me at least as it demonstrates his stupidity, is ending a sentence with a quoted phrase only to have the period outside the quote...even my 3rd grader knows that basic grammatical fact.

You guys have to know they are now looking for an excuse to ban us. That post by you (Joe) wasn't up 20 minutes and it was gone. They are watching our threads like hawks. I'll bet there is some serious email flying back and forth between those mods. Your ban won't be long though. If they think I have multiple accounts, I'm gone for good. I believe the rules say permanent ban for multiple accounts. Thing is they won't even reply to my email request for whatever it is I'm guilty of. Guess they found an opening to get rid of the official Istar presence for good.

Who would have thought that there are so many people who are actually interested in looking through telescopes. Seems a few people like the thread on CN, it has quite a following now, keep it up.

Hey there Istarmullet I read where you've been "speculating" too much! Why I'm flabberghasted! Mike

Don't know, I missed that too. I'm thinking about changing the structure around a bit here, to make this a full fledged astronomy site. I would still keep ISTAR front and center, but would consolidate some of the categories. Then have non specific categories like cats, and Dobs, and eyepieces, and mounts, and whatever. Just thinking. If I do that, I/we would have no need to even bother with CN. I think we would grow faster and what the hell, we already have some of the best in amateur astronomy here!
Not something I'm going to implement tomorrow, just want to get some opinions before I put so much work into this. I'm sure things will get much more complicated and time consuming for me if I do it.
Thanks Joe

Sounds like a good move Watcher. Since mounts, ep's, filters all work w/ refractors/Istars. And reflecters and CAT/compound scope section will work w/ ppl who have other scopes inaddition to their Istars.
Yeah I was just here catching up on the drama between this thread and the ones on CN. At 1:00'ish pm EST the Istar thread was still open. I was also checking if jolasa continued his shroud research I asked him about on the above mentioned thread.
