Just wondering where this guy is going to get high quality 6" lenses for his fancy ota's? He uses Carton lenses (excellent quality) for his 60mm and 100mm scopes. Could the 6er be using ISTAR?

He's not getting them from us. As far as the UK is concerned, we're spoken for.

An Istar lens was never a consideration.

I am interested in hearing who the lens will be coming from for sure as Skylight truly makes beautiful instruments. He's entitled to buy from whom he likes.
Hopefully we can convince him to give one of ours a try in the future, so let's refrain from flaming and read what he has to say.

Personally, and I say personally which does not reflect the opinion of Istar Optical, I like the latest and greatest shiny new scope that is cranked out of the CNC machine. I embrace the latest technology. I'm not saying I want a scope that is build by the thousands on a third world assembly line. I love the fact that Istar builds their scopes one by one. Personal attention is given to each and every scope we sell. I take the time to test each scope. But I love that our scopes are aircraft grade materials, CNC machined, anodized, high tech and well crafted instruments mounted on the latest and greatest goto behemoths. I believe our scopes are some of the finest instruments being built today. I admit there is a certain lure to a hand made instrument. They certainly have their place. If I've left any doubt about my feelings of modern technology, come on in to my home where you'll find a high tech 152mm Fluorite mounted on a CGE Pro Equatorial in my living room BTW the CGE Pro just arrived and it's a freakin monster. Amazingly it fits perfectly under my Istar scope.

I can't believe I can't get a rise out of you guys. I just spouted off all that "pro technology" crap and not one person is giong to come back with a "I love old telescopes because..." If I made a statement like that over on CN they would have me for breakfast.
