Here is the Istar/Saxon on my Ioptron IEQ45 that I used to columinate the lense , it was so much easier using this driven mount than the alt/az of the TV Gibralter . I much prefer the Grbralter as I am out viewing in under 3 miniutes , so easy . The Alt/az is so smooth in use with this OTA its a joy to use , a fine marrage . Hope you all enjoyed this , I can garrentee there will be more , so stay tuned , all . Brian. Attachments:

Beautiful bit of workmanship there Brian....am in awe really. Photos of moon etc are terrific. I use to think my 150 Skywatcher was good but now...not long til I order an Istar objective. Any chance of a custom counter cell??? no just kidding. Matt

Send me the specs Matt , and I am sure I can do a job for you , I wonder if Istar will send the 152mm f/8 cell specifications ? And you the tube diameter? It will be my counter cell design , on the Synta 100-150 jobbie , like mine . It will happen mate if we want it to . Brian. Beautiful bit of workmanship there Brian....am in awe really. Your hand made goodness is inspiration enough for me mate , remindes me of the 2000's when I built my R/T E37 Charger by hand , my finger prints were gone as well mate .... Brian. I love reading these threads, where it is immediately obvious that the builder/restorer shows attention to detail that can only come from love of what they are doing. That countercell is beautiful, esp the o-ring setup. I wish I had access to a better lathe !!! Well done Brian.

This is what I viewed , our friend the moon and in the Istar its awsome ! , I also did a little experiment to check out the CA that's inherent in the phones ( HTC one ) lense's , have a look at the 1st shot , its the moon and please comment on it , and look at the 2nd shot , its of the sky against my roof line at 10 metres . Moon HTC one hand held against a 14mm Meade UWA about 70x . Sorry if you were enjoying this , but the new system here has spat it on me trying to down load another 2 photos I'll try a new thread . Brian.

Here goes , note the CA seen against the roof behind the scope ? , that's the phones lense and shows the same as the photos thru the scope as the CA is better supressed when just viewing . Brian. Attachments:
