Hi everyone..... Last Friday, which is a Good Friday holiday, our local group did one Saturn planet night watch at one of our library area, whereby public crowds gathering in front our scopes... Although this time, I did not bring my ISTAR 8" along, instead my C14...., otherwise I think the atmosphere will be totally different. I will consider pulling back my ISTAR 8" from the Punggai resort, and use it for the next side walk astronomy...... I will ask my friend to publicize it.....And have all of you updated if the ISTAR is going for any side walk.... Regards James Ling Attachments:

Wow! And I thought my front yard was bright! How do you find anything in the sky to point your scope at?

James, where is the video? I loved the one you shot of the 8" first light. That video is like bringing me the other side of the world. Video would have been great for the occasion above. That was one BIG star party. Please consider shooting some video of the next one.

Joe, 50 members! Congratulations! Now if some of them would just post something once in a while Sorry... that's very negative. See my post on caps. Hi Mike. I would very much like to have the ISTAR 8" there on Good Friday night, knowing that this scope is even much more massive than my C14, and is able to create some interest in that busy estate, but I left the ISTAR 8" in the other country, that I travel there once a month with another group of local astronomical group comprises mainly students and lecturers... I have plan to bring the ISTAR 8" back from Punggai Chalet, in coming one ot two months time... And then I will use it for the bigger publicity , and I will get my friend to do a video taping for me... Hopefully this can be done within the next one to two months time...As I am going back to the Punggai chalet again this coming May 2011. Hi Joe. For side walk, the building and street lights doesn't matter, as we only emphasize on the Moon and Planets.... See the same picture I posted in cloudynights, with the lady peeping through the scope, and above is the moon....close to last qtr... Regards James ling Attachments:
