Hello.
I'm very attracted for your Asteria 150mm f12 R35 telescope. I think it could fill all my needs for present and future, sure !! It's evident that you're doing things great!! Congrats!
But as "transportation" is concerned, I would like to ask you a question: would it be possible to ask for a custom version of trusses ? I mean: could it be possible to have a folding truss, just to save space when moving to other locations? Or may be a truss version in the Borg-style, where it could be disassembled into several parts (may be two or three), and assembled when ready for the observation?
Thank you very much in advance, for your time and your answer.
Kind regards, from Spain.
Miguel

Hello Miquel, we can not offer a custom style TCR unless you pay for the actual design and one time production. This would become a very expensive compared to a standard production model. But I can tell you one thing. You can assemble one of these scopes in about 15 minutes with a single Allan wrench and if you mark mark position of the individual bars, the OTA will hold collimation even after numerous assembly and disassembly runs. Once disassembled, this scope takes up a minimum amount of space. Talk to Mike Harden about current availability of the 150 F12 model. If you are considering the 204 F12 or F8, we have both in our EU production, except for the lens. You could save money on shipping and possibly on VAT charges if you order the 8 inch model. New F8 lens can be produced in 2 to 3 months, F12 is in US stock available for immediate shipment. We might even have the F8 still in stock, not sure now, I can find out for you, if interested. If you are able to handle the larger TCR, go for the 8 inch model. You won't regret your decision, best regards,
Ales

Hello Miquel, We are currently taking orders for the 150-12 R35 TCR. It looks as if we may have two orders coming and yours would make three which is enough for a production run. I do have a 204-8 R35 in stock. Let us know.

Hello !
Thank you very much for your very fast answers, and sorry for the delay of this post.
The truth is that I'm starting to consider the option of upgrading my current equipment. I have a f10 refractor tube, and I like long focal-refractors. Asking here and there, some fellows lead me to your anastigmatic telescopes, and I've compared them with "the alternatives" existing out there...
But I cannot afford any of them yet. I'm towards getting the TCR 150 f12, or either the f8 or the f12 version of the TCR 204. I suppose the final decision will depend on weight (as I'm planning to use it on a DM6 mount) and final price.
But for the moment I can't place the order, I must save the money first.
Where would be the best source for getting a quote for each of these 3 TCR telescopes, including VAT charges and maybe shipping to Spain? Is there any spanish dealer or can orders be placed directly at iStar?
Thank you very much for your time and service.
Kind regards,
Miguel

Hello Miquel, at this moment I can offer you a very specail deal on either 8 inch TCR model. I have both the 204 F8 and 204 F12 OTAs in our European production so I can possibly ship one of these to you VAT and tax free. You can save minimum of 500 dollars on taxes. But the lens would have to be shipped from USA. You must talk ot Mike about current availability of these R35 SLIM availability. If we must produce new lenses, typical turnaround is 3-4 months.
We will be producing 5 more of the Perseus TCR 150-12 R35 in approx. 2-3 months form now. If you intersted in this smaller size scope, I can also possibly offer you the shipment from within the European Union, lens will be shipped from Florida.
Either way you are saving money. All you have to do is to mount the lens using 3 M6 bolts. The entire procedure is easy and takes about 3 minutes.
Let me know once you decide. Weights of these TCR models cen be found at our web site. All TCR scopes are extremely lightweight. You can find the complete list of all TCR advantages right here on IST
best regards, Ales
