I just got word from iOptron that two new mounts will be here in a few days. The first is the iEQ75. It has been discontinued in favor of the new CEM line. However, it's a high end mount that I will keep as personal. I will use it as an imaging platform and probably take it shows and star parties to promote iOptron and our larger scopes. Second one is the newly introduced CEM60. This is a radical looking mount. A "center balanced equatorial mount." Very cool design with many innovations. Notice how the mount head is centered over the pier. Non-contact magnetically loaded gear system. I had to put my ear next to the head to hear the motor run (slew) at the ASAE show. These CEM mounts are going out to us for final beta testing. They'll be available for sale very soon. I believe the next one planned is a CEM120. 120 pound capacity... now that's a big payload. I'll post my own images once I get them but check these out. The CEM has our Perseus 127-8 and the iEQ75 is a stock picture. I can't wait! Nothing better than new astro toys.
