After a rather poor summer weather wise, I was hoping for better skies this Fall. Unfortunately, this is not the case. It looks like the entire no-moon cycle this month will be very challanging.
I hope others are able to use their Istars. I finally have my 127mmf12R30 set up for bino without an OCS, and a set of eyepieces established to be able to view with eyeglasses. I hope that I can get some viewing in before winter sets in. I have had a few nights with the binos, and really like the refractor/bino combo. It is much better than using a SCT. The bino set-up is going to be great for Doubles. The Double-Double is elongated into an "eight" and almost split at 49x. At 78x, it is split with lots of black inbetween, a beautiful sight.
Wishing you clear skies, Bob
