Well its been 3 days since I started my thread on CN's titled ' Viewing sessions with my Istar 127mm achro ' and not a peep from the distractors , what gives ? , he he he .
I am deafened by their silence , I hope they read this here and learn something in the process . All positive feed back there , so far but I wonder how long anyone will be able to hold back on a negative comment ? it will be fun waiting .
One point there has only been one member from here that's commented so far , come on guys get behind this as its the first post that has not been poisoned yet by a few , I for one are waiting for the first smart assed comment from we all know who .
Brian.

I think everybody is paranoid about posting on that thread. If they start then it will be labeled as a fanboy thread and the naysayers will start to post and then we will post and "locked" right where we always end up. Maybe we should let this thread remain peaceful. See if an Istar thread can actually be retired on a good note. It's been a week and I'm still banned. Don't know what that means.

I noticed there was a new thread on CN concerning the Raycorr. I started to read it until I saw that Gord had posted. So before I could read any of his words I immediately closed the site. I am officially staying away from the CN refractor forum. I don't want to read anymore lies. No more prejudice moderators. I'm sick of it. Time to move on.

Hope you have seen my reply on there Brian, think you have. Yes not that much attention, although I have noticed that CN is very much a nice little club. By that I mean just look at the number of replies if a 'well known' member puts on post that can be as dumb as ....Just bought an ES 20mm 100º....seems so many want to get in their to bits worth. Really who cares if member X with 10567 posts has bought an eyepiece. Maybe I should try the same thing? No couldn't be bothered. Cheers, Matt

I have on occassion been guilty of inane responses but try to keep them at a minimum. On hot topics when I see a response I eagerly punch it up. What a letdown. Some sycophant has nothing to add to the thread at all. Just the usual "high five" or looks good. At least expand on it so that my time hasn't been wasted totally. I hope this response has entertained someone else! Oh by the way Mike H. that Gord post was old as I had read it before. Nothing negative as we are used to tho'! Mike

Matt don't you know that the post count is a very important tool for very 'Unimportant Tools' to boost their egos on CN. I see members there who have 16900+ posts but if you removed the posts that do nothing for the good of amateur astronomy there would be very little substance left.
I even saw someone whose post count was very high but almost all posts were in an 'off-topic' section in relation to a online game, go figure.

On the posting for posting state , yes you are bang on in my books , and what the rest of us real observers/astronomy popularisers have to say is way beneath some for sure . The way Istar has been treated there in the past just shows how closed minded they are . Not not one smart assed reply on the moon shots I posted ? that's because my Istar lense is beautiful and they will cut their tongues out before having something positive to say about a top product , sad man . Brian.

Hi Brian....
I am sure your ISTAR performs better than some ED scopes, like my WO88ED which I am using now for my grab and go scope, is showing small trace of CA....
And although CA present may not be the deciding factor to judge a scope's performance....Is the end user themselves who have similar scopes to compare with, will know how good the ISTAR optics are.....
I have the C6R F8 and the ultima C8, and I know their optics are just average....otherwise I should be using them very often for my side walk events.....
And many Istar user or supporters, are looking forward to your field reports with photos.....
Hi ALL....
Very sorry that you do not see any posting from me.....in Istarscopeclub.... As my company is banning this website, instead of CN..... And I spent most of my time oversea, and only today I am back, and preparing for tonight's side walk... But weather seems to change after a beautiful morning weather....and looks like tonight may not be a great night for astro observing...
Regards
James Ling

Spot on James , Ca is not the end all deciding factor of a Refractor objective . But it helps , don't it ? My 127mm aint perfect by a long shot in many ways , hell she has under correction , but a star test is very unforgiving and any problems seen there are invisible in focus . I have some great eyepieces that show more CA than others , my HTC one's lense shows lots , but it is a top lense ? .
I own 2 of the best scopes ever made , a refractor and DK Cat , both by Takahashi , and to me my Istar is not embarrassed at all , I could go on about the few comparo's I have done with 120-150mm Chineese Achros but I wont , they are good but just not in the same league as my ISTAR 127mm achromat .
That's where Istars shine .
You would see this and not being able to compare your Istar to any other 8 inch achro refractors ( there is none ? ) , that must be tough James ?.
Brian.

Heads up for the banned CN's people here , my thread is still going strong and the Istar knockers are nowhere to be seen ?? . I see they got Matts thread shut down for a bit , what gives man ?? , I missed it ( Bugger ) . Not to worry its not a big loss , it's now open again and there was a couple of different ones tried to knock my 127mm achro for a little colour on Venus !!! for crying out loud , grow up guys , ( I shut them down ,,, nicely of course .) , some people ?? A long story short , the knowledgeable people in refractor land ( you know who I am talking about aye James .) can see my 127mm f8 for what it is , a beautiful Achromat made by skilled people . Thanks again Istar and the thread is still going strong , cool as .. Brian. Attachments:

Brian it was the usual idiot, you know the one with the 'Royal' photo o f himself looking ever so... In my line of work I see all sorts and most of them are just great, down to Earth types, but there is always a few who are just a right royal PITA. Everyone knows it and this bloke is one of them, and thats from a distance! Sticks out a mile. Just glad he don't live in Oz. Gonna add a bit to Matts thread in a while....good to have these things resurface Matt
