I like the TCR design for its lightweight design and making large aperture refractors more manageable and know that it should pose no problem for night time seeing conditions in terms of light leakage but many people would like to use their refractors for solar viewing (white light, H alpha, narrowband) where light leakage in daylight might pose a more serious problem which the baffles might not completely suppress.
I've read that an opaque "shroud" will be available to make the tube light tight. My concern here is that even a light wind could set up a "fluttering" vibration in the shroud which would affect the image.
Has any consideration been given to designing thin cone sections that can fit between the baffles from one end of the OTA to the other to effectively "close" the tube? These shouldn't add that much to the weight and would not be load bearing.
