Hello there, I am new to this group and interested in the R30 version of 6" F12 or F10 (Anastigmatic Doublet). Now I am considering purchasing a pair of them to build a binoscope with your TCR idea, just wondering when will them be offered? By the way, I saw there is a H_Alpha R30 version of 6" F10, is it also suitable for regular night-time visual & imaging? Best regards, Craig Liu

Hello dear Craig,
we can offer 150 F/8 R30 Anastigmats for 898 dollars. We are producing some at this moment but most of those are already spoken for. Please contact Mike Harden and ask MIke about actual situation with pre-orders on these increasingly popular R30 doublets. At this time we do not offer 150 F12 R30, we will have this lens sometimes in second half of 2013. But for binocular project I would stick with F8 lenses. I can also offer you 180mm F8 R30, cost of these is 1585 USD per lens and we have F12 version for 2385 USD per lens. This 180mm clear aperture is extremely popular and we are getting new orders frequently. Same situation as with 150 R30 lenses though, ask Mike Harden mike.harden@istar-optical.com about the current stock. We have 3 in production due to be finished by middle of February and if you want any of these 150 or 180mm R30 doublets, make sure to prepay at least 50 percent and we will put your on the production list. We will ship your lens as soon as it is produced and tested. If you prepay full amount we will offer you a very nice 5 percent discount on these two doublets. Typical production waiting time is 3 months, we may be able to produce them sooner. By the way, we just finished designing 204 F8 R30 and 204 F12 R30 for your consideration. Price is not yet set, I suspect a bit below 3000 USD range. All prices exclude shipping. We must run a shipping quite based on your actual order. Have a great day, Im looking forward to your reply and order. best regards, Ales

Dear Ales, thanks for the prompt reply. Would you please advise me the H_Alpha R30 version of 6" F10 is suitable for regular night-time visual & imaging or not? If not, I might better wait till the 2nd half of 2013. The 204 F12 R30 is tempting, but it is too long & heavy for me at this moment. Best,
Craig

Dear Craig, none of the H-Alpha lenses is suitable for night sky observing. These lenses are designed to work strictly with H-Alpha filter / Etalon for Solar Observing. The image qulaity for regular viewing would be distorted. All H-Alpha lenses are strictly for solar viewing and CCD imaging. If you want to place your order for 150 F12 R30 or 180 F12 R30 you can do it now. Otherwise the 150 F12 lenses will be produced by mid summer 2013. If you place your order now and prepay at least 50 percent we would be able to produce these lenses at least 3 months yearlier. best regards, Ales

Dear Ales, thanks for the info. Could you please also give me the price quotes of 150 F10 R30 & 150 F12 R30, so I can make my final decision. By the way, I live in Taiwan currently, so whom should I contact & place my order with? Do I still get 5% discount for a full pre-paid order? Thanks for your kindness & assistance at this matters. Best regards,
Craig
