Looking hard and long at this 152mm scope. I can not get anyone at OPT to talk to me in detail about scope. I Just received my Paramount MX mount Oct 1 to replace my old CGE - Love Hate relationship
Have a Tak FSQ-106 several SBIG cameras 8300m with 8pos wheel and ST-10XME been a star junkie for long time. Started out with meade lx-200 10" 15 years ago... it almost made me give up my star journey.
My little CGE with modest payload of 65lbs got me this far. Good mount but I would love to put a Phantom CFT 152-8 on top of my Paramount MX !

Hi Ray.....
Mike form ISTAR-OPTICAL will be able to tell you all the good and wonderful things about this Phantom CFT 152-8......
In fact, he previously owned one of them, and even shot many beautiful photos under his gallery.....

Hello Ray, OPT has such a large and diverse amount of stock it's hard for them to get "overly" familiar with any product unless they take a particular interest. Phantoms are expensive to have sitting around in stock. So, no one there has a lot of personal experience with one. They do have quite a bit of personal experience with the Perseus line. They have a few in stock. Eric, their general manager, is a refractor guy just like us. He and a couple others have done extensive testing and writtten reviews. So they recognize Istar products as the quality pieces they are. However, they just sold a Phantom Fluorite yesterday. I have been in touch with the customer directly answering all his questions from my personal experience. I own one OPT is a top notch firm and Istar is proud to call them a dealer. They work very hard for us. I won't mention her name but OPT has a real "Firecracker" in their midst. She does an excellent job of representing us and her customers are quite pleased with the end result. Just send me an email: mike.harden@istar-optical.com and I will be happy to answer any questions you have. I can give you my phone number if you want to talk. With the present situation of quality glass being difficult to obtain, long wait times and high prices the Phantom is starting to be noticed as the "HOT Product" it is. C'mon, a 6 inch fluorite for 7K and a 3 month wait. I've been told some people think it's too cheap. How can it be real? But, now they are starting to sell and the word of the owners will be getting out which in "most" cases is more believable than from "marketeers" like me. That's what somebody called me over on the yahoo refractor forum Mike

Ray,
I'm the person that purchased the Phantom CFT 152-8 from OPT this last week. I also have a CGE I'm putting it on and yes a Paramount MX is next on my hit list.
I can personally vouch for the great customer service I received from Mike and OPT as Mike states in his message to you. That customer service is what sealed the deal for me.
Regards,
Bruce
