With my f-8, 6" refractor, I've been using a 2" minus violet filter with improved results. Part of the reason for ordering the 6", f-12 Perseus was to reduce CA even further. I see that Baader Planetarium has a "Fringe Killer" filter and am wondering if this might be something to consider getting with an f-12 focal length. Otherwise, I might just wait for the Raycorr to come along, although I must say that I'm not at all clear about what, exactly, this is.

Try the scope out first. You're going to find the CA minimal except on the brightest objects. If the Raycorr turns out like we expect, it will make your F12 perform like an APO. It will be more expensive than a violet filter but will "correct" false color instead of just hiding it or blocking. We're dying waiting for the prototypes...

Hang in there Mikey. If you feel you just can't wait any longer just think about me! Still waiting on my scope.
