Hello everyone, yesterday I talked (again) to our master optician about progress in our Raycorr design. He assured me that we will have a working design before my upcoming 7 week trip abroad. Im leaving on 14th of September and I should be back by first week of November. Since the glass types were found couple months ago, and I hope they are STILL available, we should be able to produce first units for testing before end of this year. Once I have the spot diagrams and other related info, I iwll share it with everyone right here on ISC. Stay in touch! cheers, Ales ISTAR Optical

Ales make sure you start on the F/11 series first. Because there are only a few to make it will drastically reduce Istar's work load. This way you can devote more time to getting more scopes out there to antsy awaiting customers. ;D ;D ;D Mike

Mike, I wish we could do one for F11 first.. but we may have to start with the F8 to F10.. which is.. indeed very close to your F11 so it may work OK. Well, let us do some more work on this and I will get back witn you. Once we test the first units, we will quickly ad ALL models for all achromatic scopes and all R30 scopes in F5 to F15 range. There will be three main groups, each one with 3 subcategory under each Raycorr model. We are starting with APS4 model which will work well for all visual and most DSLRs with up to APS chip format. The Raycorr FF4 or FF5 will be introduced after we have all APS4 models produced. cheers, Ales

Did I hear RAYCORR? I know a lovely 6" f8 that is crying out for one.... For a refractorholic like myself this is truly wonderful. Still saving the pennies for an 8" f10 somewhere down the track. Thanks Ales and Mike.... sign me up for one!! Think the Raycorr will put ISTAR on the map...ISTAR is on my map already Matt

The way I understand it.
The Raycorr will initially be available for the 150mm F8 R30, then later for the 150mm F12 R30.
What about a Raycorr for my new TCR 150mm F12 R35, being shipped from the SCAE show July 13 2013?

Will the 150mm f8 work ok with the 127mm f8 Ales? Be good if it will . Not that my 127mm f8 has a problem , but it will be good to try one out . If you need Beta testing , I am available ..
And Matt , I hope you are amongst the first to try one , imagine the sales Istar will get if they work well in the 'Synta' 120-150mm refractors , it wil be a golden goose for Istar , all my best . Brian.

Watching with interest , Mike and yes my offer for 'Beta' testing stands , and if it works I will buy that unit , no questions asked . But the only problem will be the seasonal change coming here as the dry has only a couple of months to go then the wet starts . Brian.

Thanks Brian. We'll certainly keep your offer in mind. Just the opposite for me here in southwest Florida. FINALLY! The rainy season will be ending in the next few weeks or so. Then about 6 months of no rain, no humidity and no 90 degrees. I haven't been out for so long I can't remember when. Usually in the summer it clouds up in the late afternoon, rains and then the skies clear back up for the evening but this year the clouds have hung on over night. Weird weather pattern.
