I've noticed absolutely no action here on the boards for 3 whole days. You guys with Istar stuff and projects better get in gear here or this site will end up like all those others. Some have had no activity for months if not years. If nothing else start shooting pics of dust on your objectives or shots of your scopes from all creative angles known to mankind. Anything is better than nothing here! ::)Mike

It's just too cold! Don't tell my wife but since December, my observing has been limited to Amart forums looking for mount parts. I promise, as soon as temps get above 25deg, I'll be out there!

Ditto with the cold! Been a little under the weather to boot.
Ales is going to be offering a pre-order discount to North American club members. As soon as I make sure I have the offer written the way it's intended to be offered, I will post it. Gonna need to get more eyes on this club to take advantage though, so tell everyone you can, that we're here. More activity is more better for everyone.

Hi everybody.......
It seems that even myself is not writing in anymore on this forum, but I am viewing this site regularly without any login.........
I do have plans to make full potential use of my 8" , but is just weather and work commitment, doesn't permit me to do observation in our South-east Asia region.
I have even acquired the 5X TV barlow just to try my luck to shoot at Saturn on this coming March Punggai trip. Hope the photo shot will be nice to be shown to all of you, especially Ales.....
Seems a bit strange to someone why I cannot do it now..... But is just that I am working and stationed oversea, and I am also leaving my 8" in the observing site, which is also in another country.... So I need to take vacation leave whenever I plan for any star gazing trip to Malaysia.
Hope to hear from the rest as well.......
Regards
James Ling

Work and bad weather here. Then again I don't have an Istar to take pics of/threw anyway.

I often read, but don't have much to say now, I am working on my project. I am building a modular/portable refractor from a 6" F/12 ISTAR objective. Winter and bad weather season is a good period for such indoor activities.
Proposition: a 6" F/12 refractor, with its mount and a 1.5m tall pedestal, is a small portable instrument that can fit in a standard luggage for flight travel (less than 80cm long, total weight, with mount and pedestal<20kg)
Demonstration: images within a few weeks...
