Hello everyone. Just wanted to share the latest on Perseus AT 127-8 OTA development. This will be a great compact "grab and go" instrument, very lightweight, same rock solid CNC machined construction as all other models including the flagship Phantom CFT 152-8 Pure Fluorite Super APO Triplet. All this with a perfect piece of optics as per attached photo. 1629 US dollars will get you best made, flex free OTA, lens in cell, custom designed lens cap and a US made focuser. Thank you for looking, best regards, Ales Attachments:

Another pic of the trial prototype assembly of the Perseus AT 127-8 taken on January 30, 2012. And do you know what comes next? Yes, you got it.. the Asteria AT 127-8 R30 with our newly designed Anastigmatic doublet.. so everyone, stay tuned!! The Asteria is now being produced and we hope to put one together for testing by end of May. And the best for last.. all R30 Anastigmats are optimized to work with our upcoming Raycorr Pro6. The R30 lens coupled with Raycorr Pro6 will turn any of these wonderful doublets into a true APO. Both for visual AND photo applications.. up to a full frame format!! So before you buy another achromatic lens or scope from another place, think of what you can get from Istar.. the Asteria line of scopes or any R30 Anastigmatic doublet is a first step in getting the APO performance at an achro price.. best regards, Ales Attachments:

Yes, absolutely. But now, it is rather R35 at 150 F/5,0. We tweaked this F/4,7 lens further, used the short flint and got the focal length to exactly 750mm. This lens is now in making and it will be ready for you soon. We will offer you a complete OTA since we have the OTAs already produced, just waiting for the lenses to be finished. Guys, Im leaving my EU office today, will spend next three weeks in USA, due back here in Europe by Feb. 27th, 2012. Bare with me since I wont be able to get on line frequently (if at all). But Mike Harden in Florida, Gay Ann Ward in Arizona and Petr Ficner in Europe are ready to help you with any question, order or shipment. We will announce more exciting news in March 2012 so stay tuned, cheers, Ales

What will the Raycor Pro6 due to the focus travel? More in or out focus? Hopefully none or out. For me it's going to be tight. ???Mike

I told you guys the Raycorr was a priority for us. Just because we haven't been talking about it much doesn't mean it isn't currently being worked on. Ales has instructed me to start talking about the R30 scopes (Asteria line) hand in hand with the Raycorr. We can build an Asteria scope couple it with a Raycorr and sell it for a quarter of the cost of an APO. Between the R30 material and the Raycorr, you'll have APO like performance. Hang on... it's coming...

Mikey, I will need to verify this with Ales... but to my knowledge the Raycorr has little or no affect on focal length. The Asteria line has already been designed and with the Raycorr in mind. But I don't believe the length of the scope was adjusted to accommodate the Raycorr and focus. Although Ales is out of touch with email and this forum for a few weeks, I will be speaking with him regularly. I will add this question to my list. Ales has always been excited about the Raycorr. But recently his excitement has increased dramatically... hint... hint...
