Mr Spider, thanks for the heads up. However, in all fairness we don't really know anything about this home built scope. It could be great. A very well constructed instrument. It could have serious flaws and not able to be collimated correctly etc. Comparing a factory built scope and a home built is, in my opinion, not really a shoot out. I certainly would not want to offend him. As I said it could be well constructed. What do you guys think?

OK no comment so am I wrong on this? Or no one is brave enough? Some of you guys have built scopes that are truly impressive. I would give my eye teeth to own. But, not everyones skill level is the same. My point is it's really hard to compare two scopes under these circumstances, right? One home built in a wood box and one a factory tube? Mike

I wish the Poster would give more details on the build. He did say there could be a collimation problem.
