This is my first Astro-image. I rushed this through Registax and I haven't tinkered with it too much, but here it goes: Notice the storm softly brewing.... As I learn Registax I'll repost a better image, but I thought I'd share my early efforts. I should title it: "What; me worry about CA?" Sean

Sean, what ever happened to your Saturn image? It didn't post. We're still waiting...

Dear Sean, I am also waiting to see this image of Saturn. Any chance you could send it directly to me at ales@istar-optical.com I would like to post this image on our web site, with your permission of course. Awaiting your early reply, cheers, Ales

This is what I get for being busy: let's try this again! Celestron Neximager @ f/30. The Neximage is the equivalent of a 5mm eyepiece so with a 2x barlow, that is about 900x magnification. It is not easy to hold this scope steady for 1 min+ each session! In the scope, Saturn is about 25% of the field! This is my first successful attempt. I have gb's of soft-focus and over-exposed Saturns, this round was a good one. 1000 frames stacked in Registax 5 with just a bit of processing in wavelets. As I get more data to work with, the colors and detail in future images should get better... I am looking forward to Jupiter moving into more favorable viewing. I am drooling at the opportunity to see what I can grab... Sean

Nothing to apologize for there. You've got the rings' shadow on the planet and Cassini. Good shot(s).

Hi Sean.
Your photo is great, as I fail to capture Saturn with my DSLR during the last 2 astronomy trip.
I hope by coming month of July, I can be back for the next star gazing trip.
