Well, I haven't got the lens yet, and I'm still waiting on my Feathertouch focuser, but I went crazy, and took advantage of the recent sales, to buy all the eyepieces I will want to use in my 6" F/5 R50. I got the ES 30mm 82 degree for widest field, a 6mm Ethos for a highest power wide field, and 20, 14, and 9mm ES 100 degrees for everything in between. I think I should be pretty well set for some really kick ass DSO experiences. When I first thought 6" F/5, I thought it would be somehow less of a project than a "real" scope, like an F/15, but it turns out that it's more. I want the ultimate 6" DSO machine, and that's just going to take more money and effort than long scopes.

That is a great set of eyepieces Joe. You need well corrected designs like those to perform well at f5.

Thanks Andy. I figure it this way. At one time I was considering a TEC 140. Even with 1700 dollars worth of higher end eyepieces the 150 F/5 is going to cost me at least 1500 less than the TEC, and probably be a better scope for visual DSO.

That is a great line up. I just bought a 7mm ball lens to make myself a single element planetary eyepiece to play with over the summer. Something must be in the air...
