More DSLR images using my Asteria TCR 150 R35. Calstar 2013, October 3-6, 2013. Single image of Pleiades (M45), with lots of noise and hot pixels. When I get time, I will stack 40 images and post the processed image here.

Pleiades (M45) Asteria TCR 150 f12 FOV: 40' x 28' (this covers about half of the Pleiades).
One Stacked version. Still playing with Photoshop adjustments to bring out more nebulosity. 40 Light frames, each 6 minutes at ISO 800 (240 minutes = 4 hours total exposure). 50 Dark frames. 30 Bias frames. 20 Flat frames. Registered and stacked in DSS. Post processing in Photoshop CS5: levels, curves, color adjustment. Some CA correction in PS (Asteria R35 lens reduces CA alot, but some still there with the anastigmat lens). Slight crop to remove stacking registration overlap around edges. 16-bit TIF file saved as PNG file for internet display here.

Very nice images. Great detail in the overall structure of the nebula.

I agree. Good detail. Glad you're posting these. When I imaged M42 I would also take some short exposures and when I combined them it would take down the brightness of the central "hot spot" or trapezium area. Of course, you probably already know that Mike

Mike,
Yes, you can use HDR frames (one overexposed, one middle, and one underexposed), and combine them to lessen the "blowout" of the central trapezium area in M42.
I did not do that in the M42 image above. I was having guiding problems, and was happy to get what I did.

I would be happy to get what you did also. Still having guiding problems? Well I'm glad it's not the telescope Mike

Nope, no problems at all with the Asteria 150 TCR scope. It is a keeper.
Got alot of folks who had never seen a truss refractor dropping by to have a look.

We're attending the Arizona show coming up. We'll have two truss models. The 150mm F12 like yours but also the giant 204mm F12 monster on a CGE Pro. Should draw some attention We had a lot of onlookers at the SCAE show in California last July. Note the little girl on the right taking a picture of the TCR
