Have been in astronomy about 10 years. Have had mostly dobsonians. Have a SW Pro 120 ED Apo and a Atlas mount and a XX12i dob. I am looking to get a bigger aperture in a refractor and am looking at Istar scopes. I do strictly visual and no photography. Most likely interested in a 6 inch scope right after the first of the year. I have a good site here at home. I have a 12 foot square slab and a 6x8 storage building about 3 feet from the slab to store everything. Have very little problem with light pollution at all. Hope to learn more here about Istar.
Thank you Bill

Hi Bill, When I saw your name here I thought great another Aussie....but nope wrong. Sounds like you have the ideal astro site. I have just ordered a 6" f12 lens for an ATM scope. The Istar 6" f12 weighed a bit too much for my NEQ6 and I can build a lighter version. The sale is amazing value $1500 for an f12...wow. Wished I was in the US sometimes you have so much more choice over there...well we do here but shipping and taxes is a bit of a pain. Matt

Matt, I've lost many sales to Australia because of the high shipping costs. It's really a shame. We would have several customers there if it weren't for that. We need a distributor there. What do you say?
Mike
I was trying to tell the breed of your dog. Is that an Australian Shepherd?

Interesting thought. Brian mentioned this a while back but I have no idea how to even go about it! Never had any background in selling just buying Might be interested. Can you send me a bit more info on it? The dog is a German Koolie. Sheep cattle dog that was bought to Australia by German settlers in the Barossa Valley in South Australia in the mid 1800's. Great dog smart but far too much energy. Matt

You can tell he is smart just by the way he is looking into the camera.
I actually was kidding about the distributor thing but we do need someone. I talked to two dealers there but couldn't nail something down. I think there is enough interest especially with ATMers.

Ha Ha yep I see what you mean. Shame no one will take you on down here. Hopefully Brian has raised quite a bit of interest of Istar down under and I can too with my build. Matt
