Hello and WELCOME!! Well, 200" may be stretching the imagination a little.. but we CAN produce 14" lenses and soon we will start offering special scopes with primary mirrors up to 600, possibly 700mm of aperture, thin, super low weight, made in Czech Republic. But I have no plans for anything bigger than 700mm.... close to 30" All these will be offered with special correctors for photography and around F/4. We will keep everyone posted, first mirrors will be made by end of 2013, first finished scopes during 2014. Be well, stay in touch, best regards,
Ales

OK 200mm is no problem. We produce 204mm clear aperture (210mm lens diameter) in several configurations. I strongly suggest the R35 SLIM anastigmatic doublets in F8 for deep space and limited planetary use or F12 for planetary use and some deep space use.. your choice. The regular achromatic doublets cost substantially less and we offer them in F6, F9, F12 and F15. So let me know which one you are interested in. We can offer you the lens in cell or complete Optical Tube ASsembly with or without focuser (your choice) best regards, Ales

I fully agreed with Ales on selecting the R35 SLIM anastigmatic doublets . whether is F9 or 12.... as this is just the right planetary scope, allowing you to power beyond 400X, unlike SCT with similar aperture...., And for DSO, F9 will be great, as an 55mmTV ep, will give you 32X....And I even used my Celestron ultima 80mm ep to give such a low power of 23X at M31........ Only important consideration for anyone going for 8" aperture, is the massive mount and additional pier that I must advice them to equip..... My G11 is able to handle this 8" aperture , but is only good for visual.....and maybe planetary photo shooting... A better mount will be those capable of handling above 70 Lbs capacity....and better 90 lbs and above load capacity..... Regards James Ling

Thank you all for the advices. I wonder if above 200-180mmm, seeing could be an obstacule. it is important the balance or achive the optium power under turbulance atmosphere. What do you say?
Actually, in my home city , we have good sky conditions, but there is always the "seeing factor". I intend to build a small observatory, and use the refractor suggested that suits the balance above mentioned. Mounting will be an issue for sure...I will appreciate your suggestions of course!
I believe , in my budget conditions now...the lens in cell could be a good solutions, It would be a nice challenge assembling and buiding the tube, etc...

James, Ales,
I think R35 SLIM anastigmatic doublets,F8 or 9 sounds good. DOS is my first target, I intend also using for videoastronomy (mallincan camera or similar). It is also a project for bringing astronomy science to young people here where I live.

Hello, for DSO you should consider 180 F8 R35 SLIM. We are producing the lenses as we speak, due to be finished in little over 2 months from now. Than the scope is being designed, due to be finsihed in TCR (Truss, semi closed tube construction style) in about 3-4 months from now. If you have a good mount in CGE Pro category, than go directly for 204 F8 R35 SLIM (produced now together with 180mm lenses), OTA design nearly done, first scopes should be on the market in 3 months. Both of these scopes will handle the visual and CCD camcorder applications flawlessly. The best choice for money in my own opinion. Best regards, Ales

Hi Ales,
I think starting 150 mm f/8, R35 SLIM. Sounds a good choice for me, as I intend to build all parts except focuser. It will be a pre test for bigger instruments mounting. Tell me how may we discuss about price, costs deliverying, etc?
