For anyone interested in 250 F11 R30 Anastigmat lens in cell or a complete scope, please talk to Mike Carman who originally asked us to design and produce this huge R30 lens for him. We will be more than happy to produce another one for YOU! We are not able to produce these lenses in larger aperture than 280mm. One customer wanted us to produce a 310mm R30 and I was not able to buy the special flint glass in this aperture size and thickness.. but we will search further and what is not possible today may be possible tomorrow or next week.. I never give up.. so shouldnt you... so stay in touch, if you want a special lens which is not listed on our web site, simply tell us what you have in mind or show us the exact specs and we will design it and produce it for you, no problem. A custom designed and custom produced otpics is more than 25 percent of our business. best regards, Ales

Ales I have a ? What is the average strehl rating mean? Tell me the differences between monochromatic and polychromatic. Is average strehl the same as polychromatic? You really do have a bunch of brain deads buying your products. But hell if we don't ask nobody ever explains anything to us. Mike

I don't know if Ales ever saw my question above or not. Trouble with this layout seems that if stuff isn't detected it gets buried behind later posts. Could you Mike Harden answer my above questions. Seems like Ales has left the country and is too busy right now. Later Mike

Mike, Im leaving Europe just about now... give me after I return back to reply in detail. I need a detailed input from our master opticial and explain in terms anyone can undertand. We will do the same on R30 and R35 SLIM doublets since many peopel are asking. So just remind me by end of February. Maybe on thing will be changed on our web site. We will simply call it Strehl Ratio. the average Strehl was my own idea back than but than I was told by Zdenek (master optician) that we will do it same way as everyone else, and that is measure it in one single wavelength. I must go, talk to you soon, cheers, Ales

Hi Ales. Just a reminder about the strehl ratings. I thought you would be back from your trip by now. Just finished an observing session last night. First time after laser collimating my focuser and then Cheshiring the objective. Everthing is now spot on. Seeing was a little soft even after about an hour's cool down time. Even tho' the lens sits inside a cold observatory it still has to acclimate to a chillier position up in the night air. The airy disc and rings were evenly distributed even tho' the seeing was jumping around. I could tell everything was right on the money. Very happy with this lens. Mike
