Let's say you produced a 140mm F/12 R30. If you used it with a Raycorr, what differences would there be between that and a 140mm F/12 lanthanum triplet? Joe

Well one difference would be about $1500! Lens to lens.

Joe, the biggest difference will be usable FOV and maximum usable chip size for photography. The image quality will be degrading further away from the center on doublet/Raycorr combo, too soon for us to say how much.. we will have first design ready in about 6 -8 week time from now. So we will know more by than. Secondly, resolution of the doublet / Raycorr wont reach the APO triplet.. After some design work being done, we decided to go for two versions of the Raycorr Pro6.. the less expensive version will cover APS chip size. Another version using extremely expensive and rare optical material should cover a full frame (possible above) but will cost at elast doublet.. . So we may end up having two Raycorrs in Pro6 configuration, one in about 500-600 dolar range (I hope) and another one in 1200-1500 dollar range. The more expensive one will be closer to a true APO of course both visually and photo-vise. But again, let us do some more design work and go from there.. cheers, Ales

Will either work with the 150mm f15? I don't mind the little color that is present, but just wondering of the Raycorr will cover my non R30 scope.

Ales / Mike.
At this moment, with regards to the RAYCORR 6, is there an estimation on how much the CA be reduced? 50% or 80% or even higher?
Is there also a guideline on the difference between std and R30? 30% reduction in CA?
It will be important to people like us , with such a simple guideline, know exactly what is the expectation when we buy the R30 version or RAYCORR 6 ....
