Conditions were not good for imaging last night. So, details are not that good. Very clear but a cold front moving in made the atmo very unsteady. But it was interesting to see IO disappear behind Jupiter and then reappear 2 hours and 45 minutes later. It didn't reappear as close to the planet as I thought. Jupiter must obscure IO from the sun for a short time. Attachments:

Mike....Did you miss seeing Io slowly reappearing out of thin air or were you vigilantly watching and waiting. I'd think that would've looked surreal. Mike

Yes, I was waiting and watching. I was just surprised it didn't reappear at Jupiter's limb.
