The project begins. started this carbon fiber tube (7-inches-OD) January 1 2021. Went away for two weeks and just put the outer wrap on the cored tube. Next a skin filler/sanding and epoxy primer. Hoping to work steadily on this project all of February.

Need attachments enabled to add photos. Hello Dan, thanks for your update, and good luck with the project. For uploading of attachments... - Uploading of attachments is automatically enabled for any member who is signed in. There is an image size limit of 2M per image and 5 images per post. (It's a good idea to keep images under 500k, however we allow the maximum available forum size of 2M for better image quality when needed).
- When you are creating a post, or editing an existing post you can click on the "Add Attachment" button at the top-right to add files from your computer.
- After adding your files, click on the "Insert" button to the right of each file in the upload list to insert it into the post. Click "Done".
- Click on "Create Post" or "Save Changes" as the case may be...
Regards... Watcher2 (Graham.P)

Current status - main tube ready for sanding primer. Dew shield ready for skim filler. Three pieces of metal are at the machine shop to form focuser end bell, front end counter cell and threaded plate to hold the lens cell itself. Focuser end and lens cell both will be adjustable for columation. Baffles are up next and the metal will have to go to the anodizer hopefully by the end of next week.

Need attachments enabled to add photos. Hello Dan, I think I may have an answer:- I am normally one to do my browsing on a PC so I am not overly familiar with my mobile phone. Having said that, I looked into accessing the forum on my Android phone and found that in mobile device mode the "Add Attachment" button is not available. This is a limitation of the proboards forum itself and has nothing to do with any settings. It is possible however, to switch your phone to a desktop view. From the istarscopeclub home page select the drop down menu at top right (3 vertically spaced bullets), scroll down the menu to "Desktop Site" and check the box. This should display the forum page in desktop mode with all the usual options available including the "Add Attachment" button. You can revert to mobile device view by returning to the drop down menu and un-checking the "Desktop Site" box. cheers .... Watcher2 (Graham.P)

metal for end bells cut from a scuba cylinder. bottom of cylinder formed focuser end bell. top of cylinder near neck was cut and partially turned down to fit inside the carbon tube. a second old aluminum cylinder id to match the od of the scuba tank pressed over first part formed a wider top with deep groove for carbon tube. testing fit and will send out for black anodize monday. note orings used as a spring in the push pull collumation setup.

note the focuser adapter plate to end bell is a 3 bolt push pull oring in between arrangement with two different patterns to accommodate either the Williams optic flange or a 6 inch Moonlite flange - maybe an other option in the future.
