Hi everyone! I am the ISTAR Scope Club's new Admin and am very pleased to be joining this great forum. Firstly, there were a couple of problems with the Admin set up which have been resolved. File storage capacity has now been increased to allow file uploads and the forum is once again Ad-Free. Ales and I wish to encourage your continued participation in the forum..... discussions, comments, photos, drawings, tables..etc. Perhaps you have some projects, or new photos from the past year or three that you have been unable to post here. Please dig those photos out and share now, we would love to see them. Thank you all for your patience! Kind regards.... Graham Percy PS. When not doing Admin things I will be posting as GrahamP (bluegumby)

Hi Graham and Ales...
Great to hear from both of you again.... And with this forum now capable of download photos attachments , unlike previously I only can use the utube link to show some of the activities that I am able to share in this forum..., I am sure more people will be sharing and contributing in this forum, as this year has two great events coming, which is Mars opposition, as well Saturn and Jupiter conjunction by end Dec with 0.1 arc sec separation.
Regards
James Ling

I will start posting details later on this summer.

Hi All... As I have mentioned earlier, there are two major events that will be occurring towards end of the year, and Mars opposition time which we have the whole month in Oct, to watch this planet with a credible size of more than 20 arc sec... And I have seen it with my 8"Istar, 4 years ago, with this similar size, and physically is worth the trouble to set up this big scope for visual... The other event which is end December Saturn and Jupiter conjunction with 0.1 degree separation, more closer than our moon with a size of 0.5 degree... These are the two major events that again I will use my 8"Istar to setup for outreach activities.. Unfortunately now our country, Singapore still does not allow public social gathering of more than 5 person due to this coronavirus or Covid-19... But I am very sure by Oct, they would allow us to hold outdoor activities.... And I am now trying to post a photo of one of my previous outreach activities that I used to do it once a month outside the public library area.. Regards James Ling
