Greetings.
I'm after a 204/8" f12 R35 Istar objective. Istar no longer make these so if anyone has one that is sitting around let me know via messages on this forum. Cheers Matt

I don't see why Ales won't make you a new one. They already have made the prototype so the "custom" charge I wouldn't think would apply to you. Just a matter of having the supplier fabricate it from the already existing prescription. That's my take anyway. I'm always wrong it seems like about 110% of the time. Doh! Mike

Mike, Matt, we no longer offer this lens. To manufacture one single lens is economically not feasible as the cost of manufacturing would be substantially higher than our standard price for 204 R35 SLIM doublets. The minimum amount for production would be 5 units. Since we sold only few of these over the years, it simply does not make sense for us to produce 5 lenses, sell 1 unit and then wait for other customers to buy the rest. If there are at least 3 guys interested in this lens, we would do a small production run of 5. I hope this explains, thank you, cheers, Ales

Hello again Matt, please contact me again about this by end of October. Im flying to Europe day after tomorrow, scheduled for a fairly serious surgery on Sep. 19th. I wont be back in US until third week of October and I will need couple more weeks to get back on my feet. Right after that I will look into possibility of producing a smaller batch, talk to production and see what can be done at what cost. I really want to help you out with this. You have bee a great iStar customer and supporter over the years so I will not just leave you hanging... hope you can wait until end of October or first week of November with this project. Thank you!
