Ales:
I think my Forfax needs a slight collimation adjustment, is it possible to post some directions on how I might achieve this? I am quite comfortable adjusting collimation on my CPC but have never touched a refractor.

Simply remove 5 silver bolts holding the dew shield in place, remove the dew shield and adjust collimation with 3 sets of push-pull M5 bolts in lens cell. You might need someone looking thru the scope while you do the adjustments at the other end of the scope, this usually speed things up, compared of doing this by yourself. Especially if you never adjusted collimation before. Before you start with anything else, simply loosen up 3 bolts holding the lens cell in place and carefully re-tighten all 3 in small increments (one by one) and check collimation again once you are done. Each OTA is precision CNC machined and perfectly squared-out. This is why most scopes never need additional collimation adjustments after the lens is attached. I hope this info helps. Im in Europe right now, will be back in US by first week of January. Im unable to respond to messages and phone calls until then. cheers, Ales

Someone somewhere on this forum asked the same question a while ago...read a year or two. I have done a bit of a look but can't find it. It was to do with the circles you see when using a Cheshire eyepiece. The gist was if they overlap that's good enough, I find it impossible to get my two tiny circles to merge into one and can confirm that overlapping is good enough. Not much help but hope that helps somewhat...maybe Matt
