Hi all , the weather here in Perth has settled nicely and a group of us are planning a 'Refractor' night at our dark sky site on Saturday night , I for one are really looking forward to this as I will be the only ?? Achromat owner there , he he . So far we have a WO 110 fluorite triplet , SR 115 fluorite triplet , APM 107 triplet and a new 100mm Takahashi f8 ,, WOAW!! along with my 127mm iStar f8 doublet . I can say for a fact my iStar will trounce these on deep sky , but the fun will begin around 2am when Jupiter is high enough and latter on the waning moon . Report coming along with photos ,,,, hopefully . We will have an excellent 10 inch SW Dob there to keep all observations true , you know what I mean . As a side line test my little LP 60mm f7 triplet is going up against a friends AT 66mm quad ,, mmmmm ,,, Go the mighty iStar and as always , yours . Brian.

Hey there Brian, I'm interested in the fact that your the only achro owner there? So many have no idea when it comes to a good reractor. Just look at all those ...'I just got a Tak' threads on that other site.....YAWN so boring. Seen one Tak seen em all. Give me a 6 or 8" Achro anyday.....next build is a f8 r35 8".... So how did it go? Achro 1 APO 0 Cheers mate Matt
