Dear ISTAR Friends, just wanted to share some photos of the newly designed and produced Phoenix WFT 204-6 wide field refractor. This beast is best for a low power (0,25D by the book) wide field and truly incredible views of Milky Way, wide variety of DSO and comet hunting. This first piece will soon go to Denmark and two more are available (40 day waiting time to finish the lens). So if you are ready for a huge, truly excellent custom made Comet Hunter, talk to us now. The price is way below competition producing similar quality instruments. We have just added new super flat black inner powder coating and transparent opal effect blue powder coating. Enjoy!! VERY NICE Ales! I think these will sell very well. An easily mounted 8" refractor will be very desirable. Once you add the Raycorr, everyone with a Losmandy G 11 will have to have one. Very sweet scope. Congratulations on your new baby.
Sweet ride! Come on though. Really? I'd have that puppy leaned up on a fence and pointed up if I were waiting on a mount. Man, you have GOT TO first light that little bigun' soon! Congrats on a great "solution" scope.
OK, the mount has finally arrived and I have had first light ! I will soon write something more on the first impressions but to wet the appetite some pictures of the 200 mm, mounted with it's "little" 150 mm brother on the AOK mount. The quality of the pictures is not fantastic because they were taken at dusk a few hours before observing at my dark site, so I had to stretch them a little.
Hello, It has been a while since I reported on my 200mm F6. That is because in order to observe more comfortably I had to first finish my astronomical summerproject at my dark(ish) site (apart from renovating the rest of the house ): a nice wooden decking more or less protected against the prevailing winds and with a central concrete pillar. Some pictures to show the result :
