hello.
Yes I have a mail with Ales tha offers me a 160mm f12 but I remain interested in the new 144 lanthanium (from my skies is difficult to use the extra resolving power allowed by a 160mm... YES I have no great seeing conditions... :-( As soon it will be ready i will get it. Let me know about your disponibility. Thanks and best regards.
P.S.: I could be interested in the 250 f7 achromatic lens too.. better if you have a 300mm f7 (more or less) that i could use for deep sky object wiews (the 300 f10 is too long for me!)

Thanks for the update Paolo. I look forward to your report on the 144mm. I'm hoping for that 250mm some day too. Won't be too soon though. I'll have to retire and move to a bigger place under better skies first. Later Joe

Hello, Joe. A question for you: have you any idea about the R30-R70 differences? Do you know if the 250mm f7 could be ordered with theese specifications? I'm really thinking to get a 250 mm lens to build a deep sky refractor. My "old" TMB 203 f9 was really nice in this applications. It lacking only a extra light... probably the 10" might be a good choice. The 12" sould be better but the standard focal ratio it's too much for me and I don't think Ales make a 300mm f7 only for me... Paolo

Ales has said that he would limit the Lanthanum doublets to 180mm, possibly 200mm. It's because of glass availability in larger sizes.
You should ask Ales about a 300mm I'm sure he would do it, just don't know what the extra cost would be. When I started wanting a short 150mm, he did say that he could make me one at F/6. I don't remember exactly what costs were, but I do remember thinking that it was very reasonable. It just wasn't worth it, to me, for a 150mm classical achro.
