Hello all,
I'll be within a month or so the owner of a TCR 204-8 R35 Asteria which I ordered through Peak2Valley Instruments in UK.
Great service from them: congratulations to John !
As I am a bit old by now I specialize in viewing and imaging our Star ;-)
I have several instruments:
Takahashi FSQ106ED (marvellous)
Takahashi FS60CB (for travelling to chase eclipses)
Orion Astroview 120mm (which gave good results with a violet reducer filter + a light yellow N°8)
Lunt 60mm Ha DS BF1200 (nothing to say about it: good viewings but poor images...due to my ignorance ?)
Lunt 60mm CaK BF1200 (I like the module that I'll be able to put on the Istar)
Celestron 11" SCT (which I didn't use since several years)
Meade 14" LX200GPS which I have customized for Sun viewing : primary mirror dealuminated, fans added, temperature sensors, and so on...a great Sun viewing with a 40mm SWA eyepiece and, yes, with a Baader Herschel prism...and a ND3 filter due to the huge collector of light, and of course also an IR/UV cut filter and a Continuum.
I urge to have my Istar so as to compete with my friends Jean-Pierre and Philippe ;-)
I know that the f/8 ratio is not the best for this, but I had to manage with the size of the beast ...to fit it in my car.
I intend to put on it a Baader ERF (135mm?) in the middle but I need the dimensions of the plate, which I don't know yet, to build a plate and screwing it. If someone could measure it ? (inner and outer diameters), thanks in advance. I'll fit it with a Baader Quark chromosphere...and wait and see ;-)
Cheers to All,
Bernard.
