Mike, I agree with you. One of the reasons I purchased my scope was the assurance that ISTAR would continue to pursue the Raycor project to provide the long time owners a near APO experience. Unfortunately, I do not have the money to upgrade to a R70 scope in the future.......... Tom

Wouldn't be just for us long timers awaiting something but also for hundreds of others too. I'd think more of these could be pumped out once the prototype was down pat and "tons" of glass secured! Mike

Isn't it the 'tons' of glass that is the problem….

My 127mm f8 objective took 10 days from the USA to Australia and its awesome , so good I sold my 127mm f7.5 triplet as it was not that much better , my iStar objective is fantastic also . Thanks iStar . Brian . Who cares about Herr Rohr…I don't as far as I'm concerned…a total waste of space…OK… Now did my eyes deceive me or did Ales mention an R70 204 lens…..excuse me I'll just pick my jaw up off the ground…that is F A N T A S T I C…..it'll take me a few years to make my next project…. a 2" Pillow Block mount and now I know what lens and scope is going on it….of yeah….Istar rules OK…. Sorry, a bit excited about this…. Matt PS I waited all of 3 weeks for my 150 f12 to arrive…in perfect condition I might add, and its the jewel in the crown of my telescope. My 228 mm f7.7 achromatic doublet lens was ready within 3 months, AND the lens is awesome

Mike Hello Mike, I did explained what killed the Raycorr project few years back. We did not abandon this all together. When we are done with what we are working on right now, I will get back to this again. We might offer only the LT version, but still, it would be worth it. I will inform everyone about any Raycorr news in time. What we must consider is price of R30/35 plus Raycorr vs. price of newly developed Semi APO doublets. Again, we will look into this carefully, most likely by end of this year. best regards, Ales

I am sure that many people who have the popular f/8 doublets of all kinds of brands will be VERY interested to own one; and it is a huge opportunity here if the production costs would allow a sale price that a regular amateur astronomer can afford. Anyways, I am very excited about this corrector device, and thank you for keeping it on your list as an option for future availability. Viktor Z.
