Just finished logging in over at the new site. Man I'll tell you this much....plan on a new learning curve. The format is so vertical that all I seem to accomplish is scrolling, scrolling and more scrolling. I'll either have a callous on my index finger or wear out the scrolling wheel!! Man I'm appreciating this place more. I know one thing for certain I'll be spending far less time over there from here on out Mike

Hate to sound like a grumpy ol man…not there yet….but I gotta agree. Looks like it as put together by the same mob that re did the OPT site a while back. Not what I would call easy to get around.

I don't know whether it is difficult to navigate or just new. Question is do I want to invest the time to learn my way around? There is a thread on the refractor forum that will be of interest to most of us here about the Skylight 4"f/15. Why would anyone want a long focus refractor when you can have a short focus apo? I think the reply from Thomas (Astrojensen) is really good but the OP misses the points he made about it being far easier to correct for all the other errors and more chance of ending up with a great 'scope at f/15.
It wouldn't surprise me if this site gains new members as a result of the CN changes.

Agree with the increase in scolling, that was the first thing I noticed. I think it will not be as easy to navigate. It also feels like there is too much info coming at you all at once.

Also a little lost over there. I miss my 'Green' new unread threads. Was so much easier.

If any have suggestions of new topic headings, let me know. You can never go wrong with an eyepiece section. Maybe a binoviewer one also. Binoviewing through a refractor is just something special.

Mike
I'm kinda OK with it but the the forum text fonts are too thin and lack a bold contrast like this scopeclub proboard. I'd grade it a poly strehl of about .67...lol

Need to go in the hospital again this week, but I will add an eyepiece section, a binoviewer section, and probably a solar observing equipment section, when I get the chance. Thanks for the input.

Well looks like the new CN will soon become the old CN again with some more band aid software! YAHOOOOOOO!! We won...I think at least for the time being. It seems like things got so heated up that the costs went thru the roof too fast!! Mike

I won't miss the "new look" I'm afraid. If we can have the old style with a better response / refresh time that would be ideal.
Lets see what Mk III looks like !
