ISTAR is a great new optics company that is gaining a reputation for quality, service, innovative ideas, and a mix of products that fills a vast void in other companies offerings. Whether ATM or complete scopes, the refractors that are possible boggle the mind.
If you have one of ISTARs lenses, scopes, or accessories, or are just interested in them, you are welcome to ask questions, offer opinions, and give evaluations here.
I'd like this to be a place to gather and disseminate information about the myriad offerings of this up and coming player in the amateur astronomy field, and a place to share the love of the hobby.
You can participate and even post without registering, although there are extra steps to go through for each post an unregistered user makes. Easier to just sign up and post all you want.
Enjoy your visit, and come back often. Watcher
P.S. If you could put a link to this board in your CN sig line, we can grow and become useful quicker. I'm not too computer savvy, and it took me a while to figure out how to put a shortened URL in my CN sig. If you don't know already, you can just cut and paste the code in the message header at the top or bottom of this page
Thank you Joe

Guys, regarding our web site. It is a long process updating our web site. Some products were taken out, many added, some are still missing info like weight, length, we are working on prices, etc.. so bare with us. We will be adding the "about us" section in a few week time (as soon as I find time to put some nensible info and photos together) also as most of you already noticed, we had to increase prices across the board anywhere from 4,0 to 7,5 percent BUT once (and IF) we manage to incrase the production volume we will decrease the list prices accordingly and trust me if I tell you that we could lower prices by nearly 30 percent if we manage to gather enough pre-orders on any given product. We produce a single units to max. 5-10 units on lenses and OTAs and 20 to max. 50 units on diagonals and accessories.. this makes it a very difficult to offer both, the good quality and lowest prices.. so we rather stick with a good quality and hope for a little better business in the future so we would be allowed to knock down pricess on many products. And nothing would please me more than to lower our prices due to a larger, self sustained business. Best regards, Ales ISTAR Optical, owner
